Social Media Intern, Jan 2017 to Feb 2018
WIPA (Wedding International Professionals Association) is a not-for-profit association for leading wedding professionals in North America. Its mission is to provide industry-leading education for its members, to produce inspirational networking events, and to advance the ethical standards of the wedding industry. Their efforts are backed by Rayce PR and Marketing based in Southern California.
 
I was brought on as an intern to create and curate content for all WIPA National social media platforms, and to act as a contributor and editor for the monthly newsletter sent to all members. When I started, the organization's Facebook page had a very large reach, but it's Instagram was fairly new with ~150 followers. As the overarching national organization, responsibilities were to regularly promote upcoming chapter meetings throughout the country, to showcase past events, and fulfill contractual obligations to promote sponsors. 
 
WIPA's focus was on membership retention and social media growth- they wanted to create high-quality educational resources for wedding professionals to add value to the brand. By producing meaningful content daily and abiding by a targeted social media plan, WIPA's Instagram following grew to nearly 2k and increased engagement by a whopping 162% in nine months. Tools like Schedugram, Excel, MemberClicks CRM, Slack, and the G Suite were
all utilized to achieve this result.
